The series "Panic in Quarantine" was created in mid-December 2020 during a ten-day quarantine period following my positive test for COVID-19. During this time, personal challenges further escalated, making those ten days fraught with fear, sorrow, dread, and intense introspection. The paintings aim to document and illustrate this state day by day.

The series begins with a distorted self-portrait, inspired by the warped reflection that greeted me in the mirror. I was immediately certain that this visual distortion reflected my anxiety and the sense of confinement. The abstracted shapes of objects and figures appear as though they might burst at any moment under the immense pressure they are subjected to.

All paintings are created with acrylic on paper, measuring 60 x 40 cm each.
