panic in quarantine

The series "Panic in Quarantine" was created in mid-December 2020 during the ten-day quarantine. Before that, I had tested positive for Covid-19. Since other personal difficulties also arose during this time, these ten days were marked by fear, grief, terror and intense introspection. The pictures are intended to document and illustrate this state day after day.

The series begins with an alienated portrait that is based on the distorted optics that surprised me when I looked in the mirror. In this optical perception disorder - I was immediately sure of this - the states of anxiety and the deprivation of freedom were expressed. The abstracted forms of the objects and figures appear as if they would burst at any moment due to the enormous pressure they are under.

All pictures are painted with acrylic on paper, 60 x 40 cm in size.
